Teleport to Transporter #2 and head south to the animal side mission. There is a small facility along the main road. There is a car to use and a container behind a gate. Pick the lock and open the container to find a RASP TB-SG shotgun, 12ga Standard Rounds, and Heavy Arrows recipes.

This is a handy container to pop open.Drive down the main road to reach the open space free of the Dust. The car will attract Wanderers, so be prepared to deal with them or to just sneakily walk along the road, but this takes up more oxygen, food, water, and time.In the clearing, replenish your stats and do a little hunting. You must defend your base for seven minutes until the worm hole stabilizes. The Wanderers drop down in chunks, so you don’t have to defend all sides at once. Pick them off and keep them away from the digger for the duration of the dig.

Turns out that the digger did not have sufficient energy to stabilize the wormhole. Kuban energy isn’t strong enough to keep the wormhole open. You need to mine Iris enery to stabilize the wormhole. Iris energy may sound familiar if you have played any of the multiplayer. It is the energy mined in that mode.

None of it carries over to single player. There are specific missions for mining Iris energy.After the Codec scene ends, take time to rebuild any defenses you may have lost during the mission or build your base up even more. When you and your base camp are all set, it’ll be time to head out and mine for Iris energy.
