I have a solar 2150c (I think thats what it is) welder. 115 volts, witha 90-115 amp switch.

ANyways, it is a wire feed mig welder, and I amwondering if I could buy a handle to do shielded rod welding on it. Atmy school, we have machines that if you want to switch from mig to rodwelding, you just unplug the mig cable and attach the rod gun there, andswitch it so it is continuous. Would this work for mine? Thanks alot! Some welders are built so they can do that. Most MIG welders can'tbecause they can't switch between constant current mod (stick welding)and constant voltage mode (MIG welding).Sat, 14 Jun 2003 10:08:30 GMT. Sorry Johnny,Wrong kind of process/electronics set up for stick. That machine usesSCR's instead of a contactor and they like a little resistance (thinwire) or they will fry.

It's a good mig machine.Regards,JP'I have a solar 2150c (I think thats what it is) welder. 115 volts, with'a 90-115 amp switch. I have a Century 130 that I love. It has NEVER birdnested and makes
strong beautiful welds. I don't know of which{*filter*}which is stripped
but give Century a call, their tech support is A1. Ernie knows his
equipment but every once in a while these companies will put out a
well-designed sturdy product. It sounds as if your machine was abused
and not maintained.

Hey Ernie, I got my 180 SD this last week...with Christmas and
all, I haven't put the plug on it. I just couldn't afford the 250 and
it was way more than I needed. I'll tell you about it when I get her
fired up.
